Preschool Program

Child Care for 3-5 Year Olds

The YMCA Preschool programs are dedicated to providing a warm, caring, well-rounded environment for young children. We promote a special approach to learning by enhancing all areas of development through exploration and play, as well as offering swim lessons weekly. We are licensed through the Department of Education and DCYF.

Children MUST be toilet trained. A morning and afternoon snack are provided. Parents need to provide a nutritious lunch.

6:30 AM - 6:00 PM

Cost: $150 per week
3 Day Program $88
2 Day Program $58
2 Day Picked up by Noon $40
3 Day Picked up by Noon $60

There is a $20 non-refundable registration fee per family.
RICCAP is accepted.
Must have pending or approved certificate number to register.

Bedding: Due to our space limitations, only small blankets and pillows will be allowed for rest time. Full size blankets and pillows should be left at home.

Clothing: Your child should bring a change of clothes in their backpacks. Even though they are potty trained, accidents do happen. At times we also will do messy activities such as cooking, painting, etc. Clothing should be appropriate for the preschool environment.

Adjusting to the Program
Many children go through an adjustment period. This often occurs at the very beginning when they are seperating from you for the first time.

We suggest the following:
When your child is crying- reassure them that you will return, kiss them goodbye, then leave. The longer you stay, the harder it will be to say goodbye. The staff is experienced in dealing with seperation anxiety. Do not feel that you are putting a burden on us. Always talking positively about the program and making sure that you do not make unreasonable promises will help with the seperation anxiety. The staff is here to assist you.
